Amy Baker – Managing Director worked for a trade title from 1997 to 2011, for the majority of the time as editor of a magazine for education agencies, editing and refining her news-hunting skills in hotel bars around the world. She dreamed of a job with international dimensions after living in France for a year during her BA in Journalism at City University and loves to practise her rusty French if you’d like to engage her in a discussion! Clare Gossage – Marketing Director has worked in international education marketing since 2000, for both private and public sector institutions, most recently as Head of International Marketing at University of the Arts London. She was also a member of the English UK Enterprises Board for 5 years. Having studied languages, taught English in Austria and travelled extensively for work and pleasure, she is passionate about the benefits that can be gained through spending time overseas. Jane Gilham – Business Development Director graduated in 1999 and started her journey in international education teaching English in Dijon, France,  where she acquired a love for all things French especially the cheese and wine! After returning to London, she spent the last 10 years organising conferences for ALPHE, travelling the world and meeting the fun and interesting international education community. JessicaGb&wJessica Guiver – International Education Specialist (The PIE Talent) has many years of experience working in the industry. She spent over seven years as an International Development Officer at York St John University in the UK until early 2013 and prior to that, had worked for volunteer/experience company i-to-i and Franklin College in Switzerland. Jessica is passionate about the opportunities that international education can bring and experienced in working in the sector and identifying the needs of our clients and the acumen of candidates. Sara Custer – Senior Reporter hails from a small town in Oklahoma, USA. Sara (pronounced Sarah) received her BA in Chicago and then headed for Catalonia to teach English in Barcelona for four years. She landed in London to complete a Masters in international journalism. She has over five years experience writing for webpages and print publications. BeckieSmithsquaredBeckie Smith – Reporter is a graduate from the University of Leeds who speaks Japanese after a year spent in Kyoto. An experienced student journalist and blogger, as well as international education, Beckie can be engaged in discussions about feminism, politics and the media. KatieDuncan2Katie Duncan – Reporter graduated in English Literature and Spanish from the University of Exeter. With a love of all things Spanish, Katie is fluent in the language and spent a year working in Madrid as an educational consultant before completing her Masters and working in marketing. SSunderland1 Serene Sunderland – Business Development Executive graduated from the University of Durham with a BA in Modern Chinese Studies. She pursued her study of Chinese language and literature in Taipei, Taiwan and became fully conversant in Mandarin. She worked in China for several years, latterly as International Officer for the Sino-British College. Before moving back to London she gave birth to a baby boy, and after a short time off started work for The PIE. Outside of work Serene enjoys keeping fit and playing her guitar. AndrewBsmallAndrew Baker – Accountant is the man who controls all the finance dealings of The PIE with pinpoint accuracy. A seasoned finance professional, Andrew is unflappable when faced with a strange invoice request or random Paypal statement. As well as a long career with Natwest Bank, then Lloyds Register of Shipping, Andrew managed a pretty good job of raising triplets, one of whom is PIE Director, Amy. Outside of work, Andrew spends as much time as he can as a cricket umpire or indulging his other passion of house hunting for houses his wife will never agree to. E andrew@thepienews.com

Jenny Findahl – Designer is a Swede with a BA Graphic Design from University of Westminster who, after living in London for 10 years, relocated her design consultancy to the Stockholm archipelago, an office with a sea view and a house in desperate need of renovating. She thinks it’s very exciting to be part of The PIE team which means being forward-thinking and creative. Apart from graphic design, she loves patterns and tries to get time for illustrations and doing her own prints. Often seen with a camera in her hand. Man, dog and 2 kids.
