Damla is originally from Izmir, Turkey, famous for its coastline and seafood. She studied Linguistics and English literature, and has a certificate in teaching English. After working for 7 years as a senior education consultant recruiting Turkish students for EFL programs all around the world, she moved to London in August 2017, when she worked with International House London looking after Turkey and MENA. She then spent 3 months travelling around the world and thankfully returned safely after surviving a tropical snake encounter in a swimming pool.

She joined The PIE in April 2018 and has been enjoying combining her experience in the international education industry with Team PIE. Damla is very much into exploring new cultures and she enjoys travelling, reading and experimental cooking.
