“Thanks to our expertise in online training for nearly 20 years, teachers on our 23 campuses have been able to shift to remote teaching in record time,” LCI explained.

“LCI is able to offer an efficient learning environment at the cutting edge of technology”

LCI is closely monitoring the quickly evolving situation with Covid-19. With two decades of pioneering online training, LCI is “able to offer an efficient learning environment at the cutting edge of technology”, Diego Do Livramento, acting director at LCI Global Admissions said.

Its current 17,000 students across five continents are able to complete their training, therefore limiting the impact on their academic careers.

In Canada, campuses in Vancouver and Montreal continue to process applications remotely, and students will be able to begin courses online from their home countries in preparation for coming to Canada, as borders remain closed.

While remote learning differs from the usual classroom student experience, LCI has strived to ensure the solutions offered will meet its customer quality standards. In the coming months, LCI will be bringing together all its talented people under one umbrella, LCI LX to take digital learning to the next level. They are bringing together the best of education with the best of learning to form a global powerhouse, in order to give their students, the best experience on the market.

Rich in media content, LCI uses user friendly technology that allows students to take a course and navigate easily through numerous interactive tools that encourage discussion and asking questions, Do Livramento continued.

LCI online courses allow students to:

  • participate in audio-video conferences between the teachers and students
  • learn from live demonstrations
  • collaborate with others using an interactive whiteboard
  • exchange ideas during presentations
  • have access to student services online

LCI highlighted that international students who have obtained their Canadian study permit before March 18th may come to Canada to study on-campus. The exemption applies only to international students who have a valid study permit, or had been approved for a study permit, when the travel restrictions took effect.

The exemption will not apply to those whose study permit applications were approved after the border closures. However, those planning to begin studies in Canada in August or September can begin their programs online from their home country in preparation for coming to Canada.

Moreover, LCI Barcelona has just launched 11 masters and five practical online courses, with live classes taught by active professors. The course guarantees a “personalised follow-up through a virtual campus and numerous masterclasses with outstanding professionals”, LCI added. “All this so that the student can learn wherever and whenever they want to.”
