ALTO holds its first Directors-only seminar

While WYSE is holding its trade show, WYSTC, in Barcelona this week, previous sub-association ALTO (Association of Language Travel Organisations) is patting itself on the back after feedback from its first Directors-level seminar was very positive.

ALTO broke away from the reigns of WYSE last year to carve a new niche within industry associations – the industry forum that would focus on professional development and networking at a senior level.

ALTO delegates were keen to network and discuss business

Verne Harnish, Founder of the renowned Entrepreneurs Organisation (EO) was the invited speaker at the first event; his seminar ran for the best part of a whole day and was a huge success, according to David Anthonisz, ALTO’s President. He said, “Verne proved to be a captivating and pertinent speaker, keeping the eighty-plus delegates enthralled throughout the day and leaving them all with much food for thought (and a long list of suggested reading material). Feedback from the event showed that over 87% of attendees rated the speaker as either very good or excellent, which is a ringing endorsement from the leaders of the language travel industry.”

Founder and CEO of Gazelles, a global executive education and coaching company, Harnish has spent the past 29 years educating entrepreneurial teams. “I’ll go back with a lot of ideas [of] what to do better now,” said Barbara Jaeschke, Managing Director, GLS Sprachenzentrum in Germany.

ALTO’s mission is to provide a global platform for leaders and decision makers within the language travel industry to further develop and grow the industry through networking, professional development, idea and information exchange.
