The collaboration marks the end of a year of expansion for the London-based education group which recently acquired UIC London, Eurocentres Canada and Oxford Tutorial College.

The Leicester International Pathway College (LIPC) will teach foundation, first year and post-graduate programmes to students in order to bridge the education they have already received in their home country and the requirements they must meet to study at DMU.

The group is targeting 110 students for its 2014 intake with the first students joining in June for a pre-sessional English programme but is looking to rapidly increase enrolments to 500 in the next three years.

David Anthonisz, Sales and Marketing Director at LIPC says the agreement was made in “record time” considering the group’s higher education division was introduced just this year.

He confirmed that discussions are underway with four other institutions in the UK and US for further partnerships but won’t be announced until the beginning of 2015.

“We’re looking for a select group of institutions that fit our DNA,” he told The PIE News. “Universities that offer a diverse range of programmes to make international recruitment possible. DMU has over 400 degree choices.”
