The university joined 11 other Russell Group institutions in the UK to partner with the pathway provider.

NCUK’s total network extends to over 50 university partners across the UK, US, Australia, New Zealand and Canada.

The announcement comes days after NCUK, established in 1987 by a consortium of universities, revealed a new in-country pathway in Saudi Arabia.

Chief executive officer, Stuart Smith, noted that the University of York is an institution “synonymous with academic excellence and innovation”.

“This partnership reinforces our commitment to expanding opportunities for our students across our Study Centre network worldwide and we are confident that they will excel during their studies at the University of York.”

In total, NCUK has more than 120 Study Centres in more than 40 countries worldwide.

As the company’s International Foundation Year – which is equivalent to UK A-level exams – is now officially recognised by York as an entry route to undergraduate courses.

The program allows students to start their educational journeys either in the UK and Europe or closer to home.

However, it is important to note that the programs do not guarantee entry to undergraduate courses. They are designed for students who come from different education systems.
