Australia: Outcome.Life acquires C2People

Australia-based internship provider Outcome.Life has announced the acquisition of C2People as it seeks to “revolutionise” internship programs by integrating micro-credentials.

"The rapid growth and adoption of micro and alternative credentials has resulted in employers accepting and looking for different forms of skill recognition"

The career credentialing startup, founded by inaugural CEO of DeakinDigital Allyn Radford, will be leveraged by Outcome.Life as it launches a new range of services through its software system ‘InternMatch’.

The system works with host companies and education providers to facilitate online and on-premises internships for students wishing to increase their employability, and has connected 10,000 students to Australian companies for internships and placements to date.

The move is necessary as traditional notions of ‘employability’ are increasingly outdated where automation, hybridisation of jobs, and displacement of work are continuing to accelerate, Outcome.Life suggested.

“The rapid growth and adoption of micro and alternative credentials has resulted in employers accepting and looking for different forms of skill recognition,” said Outcome.Life CEO Gerard Holland.

“The market is in deep need of new solutions that serve traditional and non-traditional stakeholders and we are well placed to fill the void.”

Outcome.Life, which says it “empowers international students with amazing employability outcomes and gives businesses access to emerging talent”, noted that it will provide interns with an online portfolio of credentials based on the practical skills that have been verified and executed throughout their placement.

Radford will step into the position of VP of strategy and credentialing at Outcome.Life.

“We have been providing support to the management and compliance of internships for the tertiary sector since 2016 and now, Allyn’s experience in credentialing is a great addition to our portfolio of solutions,” Holland added.
