English Australia Conference, Sydney

English Australia celebrated its 40-year anniversary during the 2023 annual conference in Sydney from August 30 to September 1. The gala dinner featured ‘a touch of ruby’ to hour the association’s four decades of leadership in ELICOS.

NZIEC TI KUA, New Zealand

The New Zealand International Education Conference KI TUA 2023 held last week in Christchurch was the first to be hosted in-person in four years. Some 590 delegates joined the event, with China’s minister for education, Huai Jinpeng, attending as special guest, along with his New Zealand counterpart, Jan Tinetti.

Ahead of The PIE Live North America in Boston later this year, The PIE welcomed stakeholders in NYC for an informal drinks reception, co-hosted and supported by Cape Breton University, in August.

Kaplan pre-season reception, London

Kaplan International Pathways hosted colleagues from Arizona State University, TEDI-London, and Global Study UK as well as from Kaplan’s offices in India, China, Dubai, and the US at Kaplan’s Pathways HQ at London Bridge. After the meetings, everyone gathered for a rooftop celebration before the busy season starts.  

IEAA TNE Forum, Melbourne

IEAA’s two-day Transnational Education Forum gathered sector experts and practitioners to examine strategy, demand drivers in mature and emerging markets, across schools, VET and HE. Attendees enjoyed social drinks in the evening, joined by members of the Young Professionals network.

The PIE Live Australia 2023, Day 2

Day two of The PIE Live Australia on the Gold Coast on July 23 delved into topics on employability, exciting emerging markets in South East Asia and Africa and marketing effectively to prospective students.

The first day of The PIE Live Australia welcomed more than 350 delegates to the Gold Coast in Queensland. The inaugural event in Australia featured discussions on the region’s pandemic bounce-back, adapting to changes in student behaviour and the country’s policy landscape. The day concluded with a gala dinner.

Graduate Route Visa Inquiry launch, London

At the House of Lords in London on July 19, leaders in the sector gathered for the launch of a new report commissioned by the APPG for international students, showcasing the results of the inquiry into the graduate route visa.

Invitees from across the international education sector gathered in London in June 2023 to attend the annual Regent Group Unity Gala Dinner and Dance, celebrating the Global Unity Forum.

HEPI 20th Anniversary, Central Hall, London

On July 12 2023, leaders in the sector came together to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Higher Education Policy Institute at Central Hall, Westminster. Speeches were made by Dame Margaret Hodge MP, Lord Willetts and HEPI chair Dame Sally Mapstone.

EdTechX 2023, Tobacco Dock, London

Returning to Tobacco Dock in East London, the EdTechX conference celebrated its 10th year with plenary and concurrent breakout sessions, as well as plenty of networking and a running theme of innovative impact.

NAFSA ’23: Day 3, Washington DC

The final day of NAFSA 2023 was jam-packed, both in the expo hall and in the evening – AIRC and ICEF held a joint reception, while GoAbroad celebrated its Innovation Awards and Keystone held its reception at Hook Hall. Meanwhile, Campus France hosted a lavish event at the Ambassador’s residence.
