Why Kazakhstan?

• The Strategy for Academic Mobility in Kazakhstan 2012-2020 elaborated by the Ministry of Education and Science aims to achieve 20% mobility of the total number of students by the end of the programme.
• The “Bolashak” International Scholarship has been launched in 1993 by the president of Kazakhstan and since 2012 it is only given for master and PhD programmes. It is currently available for 33 countries and the majority of scholarships are for humanities, technical and medical specialisations. “Bolashak” is expanding every year and was named the best academic mobility programme among 11 others presented at the Going Global Conference in Miami in 2014.
• Building free economic zones and a global financial centre in Astana. In July 2015 Kazakhstan became a member of the World Trade Organisation.
