Millfield School is set to host the English UK South West Conference for the second time later this year. Taking place on Saturday 22^nd October, the day promises to be insightful, with guest speakers including David Crystal, the foremost writer and lecturer on the English language, with a worldwide reputation and scores of books including The Cambridge Encyclopaedia of the English Language. David is an honorary professor of linguistics at the University of Wales, Bangor, and in 1995 was awarded the OBE for services to the English language.

Other speakers include much-loved poet and playwright, Roger McGough; EFL management expert, Lorraine Kennedy; summer school guru, Thom Jones; academic management expert, Steve Hirschhorn, and British Council representatives, among others. This year, for the first time, English UK South West are inviting not only educators, but also other school departments and agents to come along, giving everyone an opportunity to develop their knowledge and network at this unique conference.
