International students are being forced to change their plans as universities grapple with accommodation shortages in cities such as Amsterdam, Utrecht and Glasgow. 

The student housing market is "good for investment" in 2019, a new study by StudentMarketing confirmed, with demand constantly outstripping supply in Europe as the continent becomes more and more popular with international students.

More than 30,000 extra jobs and millions of euro for the economy could be generated for Dutch cities through a focus on internationalisation, but the ever-increasing demand for accommodation needs to be met first.
