The number of African students studying in colleges and universities in Turkey has risen to 61,000, according to the country’s foreign minister.

This weekend marked the culmination of a six-week institute for The Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders at Bridgewater State University.

African students still trapped in the Russian-occupied city of Kherson in the south of Ukraine are appealing for help to leave the town and return home. An estimated 34-83 students from Francophone Africa-West and Central Africa remain stranded.

A group of Australian universities is hosting a three-week virtual recruitment drive targeted at East African students.

There were 343,400 foreign students in the French higher education system, signalling a growth of 4.5% since 2016 according to figures released by the Ministry of Education.
