UK-based English language provider International House Torquay has announced the acquisition of language school Accent International.
From January 1, 2022, Accent International face-to-face classes will be delivered at a building on the IH campus in Torquay.
Accent will maintain its “unique” brand and product delivery, which owners Mark and Jackie Waistell have built over the past three decades at its site in Bicton, Devon. Mark will continue as a consultant to ensure continuity of service and a seamless handover.
“I am thrilled and honoured to bring the Accent brand into the IH Torquay family,” said Kevin McNally, owner of IH Torquay.
“Over the last 30 years, Mark and Jackie have built an unparalleled reputation for quality and service, providing training for top-level executives and decision-makers from all over the world. Accent’s corporate client list reads like a selection of Fortune 500.”
The school’s online division, Accent Virtual, established more than 12 years ago, will continue to provide online Specialist English for corporate clients and has “grown considerably” during the pandemic, McNally added.
“My team and I will work hard to protect and develop Accent’s reputation in the market, and we are all extremely proud to be the new ambassadors of this centre of excellence.”
“Accent can look forward to many more years of excellence”
Accent will be in “safe hands” under IH Torquay, Mark Waistell continued.
“With its distinct presence on the campus but with the benefit of IH Torquay’s infrastructure, marketing capabilities and reputation for quality, Accent can look forward to many more years of excellence,” he said.
“I am personally excited to be working with Kevin and the IH Torquay team, as a consultant, and this will help to ensure the combination of continuity and innovation which will create success.”
Founded in 1972, the school in the coastal town of Torquay in England’s South-West county of Devon, joined the International House network in 2019.
