One of the longest-established language schools in the UK, Torquay International School, has become the latest addition to the International House network.
Founded in 1972, the school is located in England’s South-West county of Devon, in the coastal town of Torquay, and is accredited by the British Council and is an EAQUALS member. It joins the network as International House Torquay.
“The excellent reputation Torquay International School has in the industry is very well deserved”
“International House sets the standard to which all schools should aspire,” the director of the school Kevin McNally said, explaining why he had decided to join the IH network.
“I want International House Torquay/Torquay International School to become known as a centre of excellence, where quality comes first in everything we do.
“Joining IH is a very important step on the way to achieving that ambition.”
McNally started his career with a CELTA course at IH London and has taken over Torquay International School in 2016.
“It is particularly nice that Kevin has a history with our organisation, having trained and worked for IH in the 1980s. It is wonderful to have him back in the IH family!” Lucy Horsefield, COO of International House World Organisation, said in a statement.
“Kevin McNally and his team are an ideal match for IH in so many ways; from their commitment to quality to their client-focused approach.
“The excellent reputation Torquay International School has in the industry is very well deserved and we are really looking forward to working with them,” Horsefield added.
The global IHWO network is composed of 160 affiliated schools from 52 countries.
