Edtech peer-to-peer platform The Access Platform has announced its entry into the Australasian international education market as it secured contracts with universities in the region.

“Australia and New Zealand have dynamic higher education sectors”

The firm will now offer its services to prospective students to RMIT University and the University of Adelaide in Australia, and AUT University in New Zealand.

“Both Australia and New Zealand have dynamic higher education sectors and are incredibly open to international students around the world,” Nik Higgins, a co-founder of TAP, said.

“We are already operational across the UK, but forging new links with institutions globally is an exciting step.”

TAP currently works with more than 20 universities in the UK and the US, including Oxford University, King’s College London and the University of Sheffield.

The company promises to help universities harness peer conversation and student-authored content to engage prospective students in a “meaningful way” via its technology platform.

“Traditionally, the higher education sector has communicated with prospective students through printed materials and open days,” Higgins noted.

“But what young people want is a more authentic experience with the universities they are considering and the chance to engage in a meaningful way.”

“Our technology allows [students] to get the information they are looking for from their peers via their preferred method of communication – one that they trust and understand.”

TAP has championed the use of social media as a key tool for reaching prospective students since its launch.

“The result is a higher conversion rate of potential students to confirmed applications and a significant ROI,” Higgins added.
