As part of LAL Language Centres‘ strategic expansion plans to capitalise on global demand for language learning abroad, the group has announced that Language Campus/Idiomas GC in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria, will be joining as a LAL Partner Centre from January 2020.
The addition of Language Campus/Idiomas GC will bring the number of countries that LAL is offering its students and partners the possibility of booking courses to learn English, French and now Spanish to seven.
“Language Campus has been a local market leader in the educational sector for the last 12 years”
Western European markets including Germany – home of LAL’s parent company, FTI – and Switzerland have been a powerhouse for LAL in recent years. In order to accommodate a growing demand for learning Spanish, LAL is now venturing into Spanish language learning with a quality provider in a sought-after location.
However, the partnership is not an entirely unique approach for LAL, which joined forces with ALI in Montreal in 2018 to meet the growing demand for French language learning.
Speaking with The PIE News, LAL’s head of marketing Caetê da Silva said that interest for Spanish learning in the Canary Islands has been increasing steadily over the past few years and that the location offers many advantages to students.
“Las Palmas is a vibrant city that offers warm weather all year round and the cost of living is lower than other main cities in Spain,” noted da Silva.
“The spoken Spanish accent is very clear to learn and there are no regional languages like Catalan or Valencian to contend with.”
And with many Spanish companies rapidly increasing their presence across the globe in various industries, da Silva added that it makes “complete sense” for LAL to offer Spanish language learning at this point in time.
Speaking about the partnership, Karina Mucciacito of Language Campus/Idiomas GC said it will give Gran Canaria the opportunity to develop its full potential in the language travel sector.
“Language Campus has been a local market leader in the educational sector for the last 12 years in the Canary Islands and having the support of a prestigious company such as LAL Schools and the FTI group, we are certain that it will set a new era for the touristic industry of the islands,” Mucciacito added.
CCO of LAL Bradley Wade added that the company is “thrilled” to have an opportunity to join forces with Language Campus/Idiomas GC.
“They are a quality operation who have a young, vibrant and entrepreneurial team, and we look forward to promoting them as a LAL Partner Centre in 2020,” he added.
The first courses in Las Palmas will start from January 1, 2020.
