Quality English (QE), a marketing association for independent English language schools that conform to universal high standards, has launched an innovative scheme to encourage education agents to make independent visits to its member schools located in eight countries around the world.

If agents visit eight QE schools then they will be rewarded with a scholarship for two weeks’ tuition at one of the schools they have visited. During each visit (which they pay to travel to), agents also receive one night’s accommodation and a comprehensive visit to the school and surrounding area.

“Sometimes group ‘fam’ [familiarisation] trips mean very short visits and chance that agents won’t remember the visit at all,” explains QE in its information dossier for the new scheme.

Its Chief Executive, Carolyn Blackmore, explained to The PIE that this was a different approach and intended to be “more meaningful” given the mandatory three-hour visit (including meeting students) and overnight stay.

“The combined aims of satisfying that need for the schools to welcome agents to their schools and the equally important request from agents to visit schools led to us to coming up with the Quality Visit Scheme,” she added.

The programme is open to QE Agents, agents who have previously attended QE Missions or any other agent at QE’s discretion.

Vivien Liang of Franklin International Education Group in Taiwan already attended a QE Visit. She said of her visit to Vancouver English Centre, “I learned that VEC is an ideal school for all kinds of students to learn English, since VEC offers various programs in the wonderful location with nice learning environment, unique bar area and diverse activities. After the visit, I am confident to recommend VEC to my clients.”

Over 50 independent English language schools are part of Quality English and undergo regular checks quality assurance checks. Schools are located in the UK, Ireland, Malta, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the USA and South Africa.

Its sister association, Quality Education, recently welcomed its first member, Sterling College in Perth, Australia.
