Dublin-based Atlas language school has moved into landmark Portobello House overlooking the Grand Canal in Dublin to support recent “rapid growth”. Marking its 10th anniversary, the school also plans to open a junior programme in the USA next summer.

“It has taken over a year of negotiations to secure Portobello House so we are absolutely delighted to have finally moved in to such a unique and beautiful building,” said director Nico Dowling.

“We have been growing rapidly over the past number of years and we feel our new location will further enhance our standing in the Irish market and strengthen our position at the forefront of quality ELT providers.”

The school has partnered with a Spanish agent to run a four-week junior only programme in Santa Barbara, California from July 2014

The 25-classroom school will support over 2,000 students that study at Atlas every year that amount in 10,000 student weeks, 800 of which are from junior students.

In addition to the new location, the school has partnered with a Spanish agent to run a four-week junior only programme in Santa Barbara, California from July 2014.

The new move follows the opening of a UK junior-only centre in Bristol that brought in 140 students for 3 weeks in July of this year.

Dowling adds that the school is preparing for more international partnerships. “Over the next three to five years we hope to open a further three or four junior centres across Ireland, the UK and the US,” he confirmed.
