Global University Systems (GUS) has gone public as the overarching group and brand that oversees operations including the well known LSBF business school enterprise. GUS has used its recent acquisition of GISMA Business School to promote its new brand, which encompasses LSBF and seven other education businesses.
Regarded as one of the prestigious business schools in Germany, according to GUS, Hannover-based GISMA will be supported “to further develop its distinct academic profile, strengthen its management team and expand its course portfolio”.
The deal will enable GISMA to bring about greater opportunities through GUS’s wide network of academic partners, agents, international locations and marketing and online learning structures.
The latest “partnership” saved the German institution from insolvency and has been welcomed by local authorities and politicians.
Daniela Behrens, Secretary of State in the Ministry for Economics, Labour and Transport for the State of Lower Saxony, said: “The government of Lower Saxony welcomes the fact that GISMA will continue to operate and that the jobs of all the staff were saved.
“We are confident that there will also be a future for the established cooperation with the Leibniz Universität Hannover. GISMA will continue to be an important part of the educational landscape and the infrastructural and economic development of Lower Saxony.”
GUS’s current partner institutions include St Patrick’s College; InterActive; London College of Contemporary Arts; LSBF; School of Fashion & Design London; FBT (Finance Business Training); English language school brand The Language Gallery and LFC ELITES.
