King College International, an ELT summer school in Madrid, is to launch an English language learning and football programme for juniors this summer.
The programme, which runs July 1–28, will make good use of the city’s famous football connections. Alongside English tuition, students will receive football training from Foundation Real Madrid, the outreach arm of the celebrated Spanish football team.
King’s director, Luisa Coque Martínez, said: “The aim of this course and alliance was to join forces. King’s College International, a member of King’s Group, wanted to join forces with Foundation Real Madrid, an internationally prestigious organisation.
“Both of us pledge our commitment to very similar values: quality, self-improvement as well as wanting to open barriers through sports and languages.”
The course is for boys and girls aged seven to sixteen. Up to 60 will join the course every two weeks, learning English 10 hours per week, training 90 minutes a day, and playing one full football match a week. Other social and sporting activities will be included.
The course will be held in King’s College International, 15 minutes away from Madrid city centre.
Kings International College runs a variety of summer programmes and taught 1,700 students last year. It is part of British company Kings Group, which runs British education schools in England and Spain.
