Well-known Asia-wide education agency Global Reach has announced it has partnered with global learning provider Kaplan to better promote the US market to its students.

Managing director of Global Reach, Ravi Lochan Singh, told The PIE News the new strategy has come out of a realisation that Global Reach’s North American strategy was not working to its full extent.

“Kaplan is a world leading provider, while Global Reach as the first AIRC accredited agency in India”

“At Global Reach, we have been analysing the situation and have come to realise that a major fault-line in our structure was the absence of a coaching/training division on the various tests such as SAT, GRE and GMAT,” he explained.

“The branding association of the Global Reach brand with USA was also weak. The way to counsel for USA differs from that to Australia or UK,” he added.

The agency has signed a five-year agreement with Kaplan to become a ‘Kaplan Certified Education Provider’ operating across India, Sri Lanka and Bhutan, offering Kaplan Test Preparation courses aimed at a US-bound student cohort.

Singh said he believes the collaboration between Global Reach and Kaplan will be “a synergy for sure”.

Global Reach has also appointed a new head of division, Minakshi Basak, to lead the US initiative.

“We aim to continue to offer quality service to our students and through the Kaplan Test preparation, we believe we will be able to offer complete assistance to the students when it comes to studying in the US,” she said.

“Kaplan is known as the world leading provider on coaching and training while Global Reach as the first AIRC accredited agency in India, and with 40 offices in the region is in unique position to deliver a solid package to the student of coaching and counselling focussed on US options,” Singh surmised.

This move comes as US-India education is experiencing a boom period, with knowledge exchange activities and attempts to balance the market following from the news that Indian students are the second largest cohort in the US.

Global Reach was the inaugural winner of the PIEoneer Award for Education Agency of the Year in 2017.
