Members of English UK, the UK’s leading English language teaching association, met with education agents from around Asia in Macau last month for the latest English UK Fair to be organised for members.
Educators and agents had many networking opportunities during the three-day event which included one to one meetings and seminars as well as a packed social programme.
Thirty-five of English UK’s 450 members of accredited language centres attended the event in order to set up relationships with agents from China, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Thailand, Japan, Taiwan, Korea, Macau, Singapore, Mongolia and Indonesia.
The workshop was organised in partnership with and supported by the British Council, UK Trade & Investment and VisitBritain.
“It’s been another superbly-organised quality fair”
Feedback from participants was positive. “It’s been an excellent event in which I have had the chance to meet quality UK educators, learn about their courses as well as raise awareness of UKTI Vietnam and how we are there to support UK businesses in the Vietnamese market,” Ho Thi Kim Phuong from UKTI in Vietnam, said.
Organisers say the fair started on a high note with delegates meeting at a revolving restaurant, 360 Cafe, on the top floor of Macau Tower, the world’s tenth tallest free standing tower.
“It was a fantastic start for our biggest fair so far, and the combination of the food and the spectacular view made it the perfect venue to get people networking from the start,” said senior international manager Jodie Gray, Senior International Manager at English UK.
“It’s been another superbly-organised quality fair,” said Grazyna Anna Sutherland of the London International Study Centre. “Attention to detail, ongoing care and support are always exemplary, and there have been fantastic opportunities to meet new agents and consolidate older relationships.”
