Bell, the British-owned international language chain, is to launch new summer programmes for young learners at Ardingly College, a boarding school in West Sussex, UK. The move increases Bell’s young learner centres in the UK to six, helping the company cater to growing demand in its junior segment.
“Our decision to expand our portfolio of young learner centres comes in response to the outstanding success our young learner courses have enjoyed,” Tony Anderson, Director of Sales and Marketing at Bell said. “We are expecting 2012 to be a record-breaking year.”
The Ardingly centre will offer brand new English language and activity-based courses for 12-17 year olds from around the world. In its two-week Young Achievers programme, students will develop their English language skills as they work towards the Trinity English Certificate.
Students may also study certificated activity programmes in areas such as performing arts, outdoor survival skills and sports leadership.
“Bell is committed to providing excellent courses to young people across the world, and our new venture with Ardingly will ensure we can offer an even more exciting activity programme,” said Anderson.
Bell is one of the largest British providers of English language education services, teaching 100,000 students worldwide each year. It has agreements with a range of schools in the UK to use their premises for young learners programmes during the summer months.
The company said its young learner programmes had seen a 25% rise in popularity since 2009 and were attended by 3,000 students this summer – more than at any point previously.
