Bristol International College has announced it has been approved to teach the University of London International Foundation Programme, giving successful students a pathway to a range of higher education institutions across the UK.
The college will be the first in the south-west of the UK to offer the course, joining the University of London’s network of over 120 Recognised Teaching Centres in 60 different countries.
The program takes a year to complete, leading to a qualification equivalent to A-level or IB.

“With outstanding facilities and academic excellence and pastoral care, BIC students can be guaranteed a ‘best in sector‘ experience,” BIC CEO John Milne said in statement.
“I am thrilled to be opening up Bristol’s very first pathway provision to top universities in the UK,” he added.
The University of London’s head of Business Development, Alex Boughton, noted BIC would be its first centre in the south-west of England.
“We very much look forward to working closely with the BIC team as we prepare for the launch… in Bristol next year,” he said.
The college is hoping to attract around 30 students in its first year to study the IFP, while director of Admissions Melanie Gray anticipates strong future growth.
“I expect the IFP to be a very popular option for those students finishing their secondary education at the age of 16 or 17 who are looking for a one year option which not only bridges the gap between school and university but offers the ideal preparation for the transition to university life,” she said.
