International education events organiser BMI and Dubai International Academic City have entered into a strategic agreement that will see Brazil-based BMI support the education hub’s international recruitment efforts, while DIAC will promote BMI’s study fairs in the Gulf region.
The agreement will help DIAC, which is already popular with students in Dubai and from across the Gulf, to diversify its student intake as it seeks to recruit a greater proportion of its students from further afield.
“They’ve already started getting students from other parts of the world but they’ve been getting them without being particularly active,” Samir Zaveri, president and CEO of BMI, told The PIE News.
“We’re going to be helping them in South America, in Asia, and within the Gulf as well”
“They’re now going to be quite active, and so we’re going to be helping them in South America, in Asia, and within the Gulf as well.”
More than 30,000 visitors are expected to attend BMI’s eight fairs in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Qatar, Kuwait, Malaysia and Vietnam this autumn, where it will promote DIAC’s institutions.
“Most of the branch campuses are expected to participate within our events in Dubai and around the Gulf and some will participate in our events in some of the Asian and South American countries,” Zaveri added.
Meanwhile, DIAC the world’s largest free zone dedicated to international education with some 24,000 students from 145 countries, will promote BMI’s events in the Gulf to students at its 27 regional and national universities.
Ayoub Kazim managing director of DIAC, said the partnership with BMI will “open up a number of new doors for us- namely in developing markets such as South America and Asia”.
As well as DIAC, BMI has also signed agreements with a number of high-profile media organisations and universities in the markets where its fairs will be held.
It will be supported by Danang University and FPT University in Vietnam, whose parent company also operates mass media company FPT media, and by Mongoose Publishing in Malaysia.
