New software launched this month will be able to offer the ability to translate – in real time – 35 languages into a computerised voice similar to Apple’s Siri, using new Translate Your World Live (TYWI) software launched by linguistic and mobile marketing technology developers.
The software, developed by USA-based CEO Andre Busse and President Sue Reager, can also translate 78 languages to sub-titles and the developers expect the software to have significant impact on the education industry and global event sector, amongst many others.
The latest addition to the Translate Your World software suite works by aggregating a host of speech recognition engines for languages including Cantonese and various accented versions of French and English, allowing conferences or classes to be streamed to a global audience.

Sub-titles from the live event can be saved and edited later on.
“The time is finally right where companies of all sizes are considering global expansion, and with the introduction of this revolutionary new software the barriers that used to prohibit such growth are now eliminated,” Busse told The PIE News.
“In the past, the expression ‘global event’ has really been used to mean English-only, inviting other countries, or French-only, or German-only. That approach included only 8% of the world’s population,” Reager noted.
“TYWI-Live includes 78% of the world’s population, thus another potential 2.5 billion potential listeners, attendees, and participants,” she added.
In the US alone, translating a full college course costs US$20,000 including the price of filming lectures, employing a captioner to write subtitles and then marrying it to the footage.
“TYWI Live cuts the translation cost by some 98%. Now all companies can go global, instead of the big ones alone,” Reager explained.
“The programme took four years to develop and while some languages require better speech recognition engines, it has opened up communication where there was none before.”

Older offerings in the Translate Your World suite include The Mobile Tutor that allows teachers to receive texts in any language from students around the world and send responses either as text or as spoken words that can be heard in the student’s local language.
Other features also include a password-protected crowd sourcing software enabling distant learners and educators to participate in online courses and presentations that has built-in automated translation.
Users may subscribe to the services monthly or on-demand with prices starting at $25 for one language with sub-titled translations or $99 for all languages with voice and text translations.
