Switzerland-based StudyLingua, with its brand Pro Linguis, has acquired German language travel agency DIALOG-Sprachreisen International, as the company seeks to strengthen its foothold in Germany.

DIALOG Sprachreisen will continue to operate as an independent brand in Freiburg, under the StudyLingua Switzerland owned company StudyLingua GmbH in Würzburg, Germany – a country that has been becoming increasingly important for StudyLingua.

“In the last couple of years, Germany has become more and more important to us”

“With StudyLingua we are delighted to have found the perfect partner,” Joachim Pitsch, founder and CEO of DIALOG said in a statement.

“With their clear focus on key competencies and professionalism, including excellent customer service, respectful partnerships and sustainable growth both brands have very much in common.”

Simon Marcon, founder and CEO of StudyLingua, said the company was proud to be teaming up with a company that has more than three decades in the industry, starting with the foundation of language schools in Granada, Nice and Costa Rica.

“We’re very happy and proud to be joining with DIALOG, which has operated as a high-quality agency for more than 30 years,” Marcon said.

“In the last couple of years, Germany has become more and more important to us, this is why we have been focusing on expanding our existing business in Germany,” he added.

“With Joachim, I could reach a perfect agreement, which will bring us a big step forward. We’re both very similar in the sense of quality and how we manage our agencies, therefore our two agencies fit together perfectly.”

In 2016, Pro Linguis – which is one of Switzerland’s oldest and largest education agencies – RHZ Sprachen were acquired by StudyLingua. In 2012, the agency also acquired Experience Sprachreisen in Germany.

The acquisition is expected to take effect by January 1, 2020.
