St Giles International has announced the acquisition of the New School of English in Cambridge, adding another year-round English language centre to its portfolio.
The acquisition will see the school be rebranded as St Giles Cambridge from January 2018.
And it will become St Giles International’s eighth year-round school across three countries.
“We’ve been operating a popular junior summer centre in Cambridge for years”
St Giles Cambridge will cater for a new intake of students from next January, aged 16 and above, with a capacity of around 150 students.
Mark Lindsay, CEO of St Giles International, said that it has been an ambition of the group to run a year-long centre in Cambridge.
“We’ve been operating a popular junior summer centre in Cambridge for years and we’re delighted to be able to now offer this popular and attractive location all year round to our agents and students,” he said.
As a result of the acquisition, the school will run under St Giles management until January next year, but operate under the New School of English brand. The school was founded in 1962.
St Giles boasts five language centres in the UK – two in London, as well as in Brighton, Eastbourne and now Cambridge – along with centres in New York, San Francisco and Vancouver.
