Good Hope Studies, a successful English language school in South Africa, has been targeting Brazilian education agencies to win increased business from the South American country.
It recently hosted a fam tour for 10 agencies that included taking in some of the country’s best known tourist sites and meeting Brazilian students already studying in the country.
Although Brazil has lots of potential and the government-backed Science without Borders programme has raised the national conciousness about outbound study opportunity, Jorge Baron, Marketing Manager for the Americas at the school told The PIE that student numbers from Brazil had recently suffered a decline at their school.
“We also have very close relationships with Brazilian agencies,” he said, explaining why the week-long event had been organised.
Good Hope Studies caters for around 1,600 students per year and Brazilians typically represent 12% of the cohort.
“One of the highlights of the trip was definitely the visit to Inverdoorn, a game farm near Cape Town, at which the agents went on a wildlife safari!” added Baron, who is confident the trip will yield more business from the Brazilian market.
