French business school, SKEMA, has announced it is opening its first campus in Latin America near Belo Horizonte in Minas Gerais, Brazil.
In partnership with Fundação Dom Cabral, which was dubbed as Latin America’s best business school by the Financial Times Executive Education ranking last year, SKEMA will host its first 100 students in September.

In a statement, SKEMA said it chose Belo Horizonte, third most economically important city in Brazil, because of it offers a “burgeoning economic context”.
“This opportunity meets a strong demand from our students, who will be able to study in an extraordinary environment, confronting a new culture and allow them, through our international campus, to live out this unique experience. This is what SKEMA is about,” Alice Guilhon, the dean of SKEMA Business School said.
FDC, which also has strategic partnerships with INSEAD and Kellogg, will be sharing its facilities with SKEMA, giving students access to 400m² of space including classrooms, a video conferencing room, a student common room and a lecture hall.
It will also be providing the new students with customised course content that is related to Brazilian business aspects.
Located 20km from Belo Horizonte, this opening will be SKEMA’s sixth campus following its previous expansions from its three locations in France – Lille, Paris and Sophia Antipolis – to Raleigh in the US and Suzhou in China.
Created in 2009, after a merger of CERAM Business School and Groupe ESC Lille, SKEMA offers bachelors, specialised Masters, PhD and eMBA programmes.
Since its inception, SKEMA now has over 32,000 alumni.
