One of the world’s largest education and market intelligence agencies, IDP, has launched a new international education hub, relocating its Singapore-based regional headquarters in a move the company said would better facilitate the needs of its students.
Located in the historic Cathay mall and cinema, IDP Education’s new hub in Singapore will provide services including course matching and application assistance, visa services, and computer-delivered IELTS.
“Students helped design this space by telling us where they wanted”
“As a leading knowledge hub, we are thrilled to move IDP’s regional headquarters to Singapore,” IDP Education chief executive Andrew Barkla said.
“It was here in Singapore we established our first office specifically for student placement services, more than 30 years ago.”
The new hub is the latest for the education consultancy, which currently has more than 120 offices globally.
“With our South East Asian flagship centre now here in Singapore, we will continue to attract the right talent to be part of our team,” Barkla added.
In creating the new space, country director for IDP Singapore Shania Kim said the company extensively consulted with students to understand their needs before choosing a new location and final design.
“Students helped design this space by telling us where they wanted our offices to be and what they wanted in an ideal customer experience,” Kim said.
“Embarking on a life-changing international experience is both exciting and important. Together with our students, we have created a modern space that starts their journey off on the right path,” she said.
The move also sees IDP’s Singaporean offices move into an increasingly youth-oriented area.
Currently celebrating 50 years of operations, 2019 has already been a significant year for IDP Education, after it relaunched Hot Courses as IDP Connect in January, two years after purchasing the market intelligence agency.
