QS, the company that is possibly best known for its World University Rankings, has announced that it is now working in the student recruitment market, focusing on promoting and counselling students about opportunities in higher education overseas. It will work directly and in partnership with education agencies. A first partnership with Global Reach agency in India was launched in May.
The service is branded QS Advance, and will be a "counselling and application management service". John Molony, QS Vice-President, told The Pie News, "QS has 20 years experience in international education and knows the domain well. Personally my experience is also about that long and we will be taking a cautious and steady path to developing the network of partners."
The UK-based company also organises fairs promoting overseas study opportunities, such as the World MBA Tour, and runs websites such as TopUniversities.com. With offices in eight locations around the world, a move into counselling students about international education opportunities is a logical next step, according to Molony.
He elaborates, "At the heart of QS Advance is an understanding that the communications between institutions and prospective international students is complex and that it requires special attention, and the highest level of integrity, to ensure the best outcomes for both parties."
