What do digital innovation, alumni relations and stellar marketing campaigns have in common? They are three of the 12 award categories in the inaugural PIEoneer Awards, launched by The PIE News team.

Taking place on September 8 in central London, The PIEoneer Awards will honour achievements and unique contributions to the international education sector.

Other categories include Association of the Year, Education Agency of the Year, and the flagship award, PIEoneer of the Year.

“We’re excited to launch awards that reflect our readership of professionals working in all parts of international education all over the world”

“We’re excited to launch awards that reflect our readership of professionals working in all parts of international education all over the world,” said Amy Baker, The PIE’s managing director.

“Through our daily news coverage of the sector we see all of the exciting developments happening and The PIEoneer Awards is a great way to celebrate those innovative achievements all in one place.”

Entries will be accepted for all 12 award categories from this month. They will then be shortlisted, and passed on to a 15-person judging panel.

Representing different sectors and professions within international education, the hand-picked jury spans five continents and will have the final say on the winners.

Early supporters in the sector include Education New Zealand.

“As the New Zealand Government’s lead agency for international education, we’re delighted to support The PIEoneer Awards,” said Grant McPherson, chief executive of Education New Zealand.

“We’re pleased to partner with The PIE to recognise the most outstanding innovation and achievement in international education globally, as well as our industry’s ongoing development and professionalism.”

The night’s ceremony will take place at the Royal Institute of British Architects, with an after party planned in London’s iconic Gherkin building.

Tickets for the night will be available for purchase on a first-come-first-served basis.
