UP Education has become New Zealand’s newest and largest independent tertiary education group, after ACG Pathways, ACG English School and New Education Group rebranded and separated from ACG Schools.
Under the new name, announced in mid-2019, UP Education will continue working within the tertiary education sector, which includes a portfolio of university partnerships and vocational colleges, with over 30 campuses throughout New Zealand.
“Creating UP Education as a new brand will help us stand apart in the global education market”
“For over 20 years we have provided specialised training programs to equip students with skills that have changed their lives,” said UP Education chief executive Mark Rushworth.
“Our expertise positions us as an innovative, responsive educator that works closely with industry to ensure we deliver work-ready candidates. With this come opportunities to engage new students who are looking for the best pathways to achieve their career goals.”
Currently, UP Education has partnerships with several universities, including the University of Auckland, the Victoria University of Wellington, AUT Auckland, and the University of Tasmania in Australia.
Its vocational college network includes the New Zealand School of Tourism, New Zealand Institute of Sport, Cut Above, and the recently rebranded Yoobee Colleges.
The split also sees ACG Schools retain the old brand and name while joining Inspired, a global network of premium schools which looks to re-evaluate traditional teaching methods and curriculums.
“We have strong university partnerships and a network of colleges with first-rate qualifications and educators,” Rushworth said.
“Creating UP Education as a new brand will help us stand apart in the global education market. We hope to inspire and engage individuals in order to equip them with life-long, dynamic skills that will propel them into fulfilling careers.”
UP Education currently enrols 10,000 students across its campuses.
