At the University of Notre Dame, we provide undergraduate students an opportunity to study abroad, allowing them to engage with a global experience, whether in research, internships, service learning, or community engagement.
Study Abroad is part of the academic curriculum and the student experience for over 76% of the student body. Dating back to as early as 1964, when Notre Dame established its first study abroad program in Innsbruck, Austria, these international experiences have since become an integral part of the DNA and culture of our university.
“What I admire most about NDG study abroad is the determination and dedication to creating holistic programs which engage students in a multitude of ways. Intentional and impactful programs, for all, is our mission here at Notre Dame Global.” states Morgan Crier, NDG summer programs coordinator and advisor for non-Notre Dame Students
Moreover, these opportunities are not limited to just Notre Dame students; it is our goal to extend participation to all. It is with great excitement that we at Notre Dame Global announce that the Summer 2025 Study Abroad Programs are open to all undergraduate students enrolled in US universities. Studying abroad through Notre Dame will allow non-ND students to take advantage of our state-of-the-art global education programs while earning Notre Dame credits.
Notre Dame Global has a robust summer study abroad list that spans many different countries, continents, and disciplines. These programs encourage students to engage with diverse cultures, languages, and global perspectives. In a rapidly globalised world, becoming a global citizen is vital for students and incredibly beneficial as it broadens their perspectives, expands career opportunities, and enhances problem-solving skills.

Notre Dame Global has an extensive network across the world, including 12 global locations in Santiago, São Paulo, Mexico City, Dublin, London, Rome, Nairobi, Mumbai, Hong Kong, Beijing, and Jerusalem. NDG offers countless opportunities for research, collaboration, and education. Our faculty-led programs are instructed by world-renowned faculty who offer their expertise in the disciplines and region.
The specialised tracks that we offer in summer programs allow students to take courses in sustainability studies, engineering, accounting, creative writing, neuroscience and behaviour, finance, literature & theology, and many more. These programs are not only distinguished for their strong academic rigour, which challenges and encourages students but also for their ability to build intercultural competency. Here at Notre Dame Global, we strive to create opportunities where all may flourish, whether they are Notre Dame students or not.
“As a non-Notre Dame student, I was so fortunate to be welcomed with open arms into the Notre Dame community and enjoy an experience like no other. The Mendoza School of Business has an unparalleled number of resources to help students engage with the international finance realm. The professors were incredibly passionate about us learning not just the class material but also about the real-world applications of our lectures, British culture, and how to grow as people.” says Patrick Fanning, a student from Tufts University.
