Following demand from its students and agents, Liverpool-based LILA* language school is adding a new teaching centre in Canada Water in London to its portfolio, after allocating a budget of around £1m to the development.
The school, which has capacity for around 350 students, will open its doors to students in late September and is initially offering General English, Business English, one-to-one lessons and exam preparation courses in technology-integrated classrooms.
“We’ve been asked so many times whether we have a school in London and when we were planning on opening one, eventually we decided to make the next step for LILA*”
“We’ve been asked so many times whether we have a school in London and when we were planning on opening one, eventually we decided to make the next step for LILA*,” Leanne Linacre, Director of LILA* told The PIE News. “Anything to keep our agents happy!”
Linacre explained that the new London school will have 12 classrooms in total. “We are initially developing six classrooms and will open the remaining six within the next six months,” she confirmed.
Linacre divulged that LILA*, which has been in Liverpool for 10 years, had the full support from its agents who also offered “invaluable advice” when the school started the search for the perfect location.
“How many language schools can boast a pretty canal running alongside it rather than a noisy road? Being in Canada Water we have a central London location which has a feel of a hidden oasis, a haven of tranquillity,” said Linacre.
The new centre aims to provide students with a unique place to socialise outside of school, while still having accessibility to the centre of London.
LILA* is run by sisters Leanne Linacre and Victoria Lee and this year celebrated its 10th anniversary by holding 10 events across the globe for its agents, students and stakeholders.
“We’re absolutely thrilled to be doing this in the year we celebrate our 10th birthday. We’ve come a long way in 10 years and have had an amazing time doing it,” concluded Linacre. “We’re looking forward to the next 10 now, and whatever that brings.”
