Following a year of strong demand across all its schools, LAL Language Centres has announced three new locations for 2015 including a school for adults in Boston and summer schools for young learners in New York and Brighton in the UK.
The Boston location, while a new LAL-owned school from January, has previously been offered to LAL clients via an agreement with a small, boutique-style school. It had been running as ‘Language Skills Boston, an LAL Language Centre’ but will officially become LAL Boston on January 4 2015, with plans to expand its capacity.
“A new boutique school in downtown Boston run by LAL is something people are really interested in”
“Looking at the response from our agencies, which has been really positive, we’re expecting strong numbers from all our markets,” CCO of LAL Sam Bufton told The PIE News. “And a new boutique school in downtown Boston run by LAL is something people are really interested in.”
“The Boston school previously relied on direct bookings through word-of-mouth and referrals, so we’re really looking forward to extending the reach of the school through our solid network of agents,” he added.
Bufton confirmed that Germany, Switzerland, Brazil, The Middle East and Korea have been consistently strong markets in 2014 and he believes Colombia, Taiwan and China offer strong potential.
In the UK, the new Brighton summer centre for students aged 12 to 17 is located in the city’s football stadium where lessons will take within the executive box.
Students will also have the choice of opting for a ‘Goal’ package which includes professional football coaching and tour of Wembley and Chelsea FC football stadiums.
And in New York, the new summer centre there is located in the Upper West Side of Manhattan in New York, aimed at 16-20 year olds.
Bufton explained that following the recession LAL successfully managed to shift its dependent source markets for young learners from Spain and Italy to other countries, noting that last summer students came from 64 different countries.
