UK-based education provider, Kings Education, has announced a new partnership with Downside School, a well known Catholic boarding school near Bath in the UK.
The agreement will see Kings operating a new International Study Centre (ISC) on the campus of Downside School, which will be home to international students aged 11 – 15, from September 2016.
It will prepare international students for direct entry to the main School, or at a range of alternative partner UK boarding schools. Alternatively, the programme can be studied as a short-term boarding school taster programme for one or two terms by students not intending to progress to Downside.
Nigel Pamplin, Director of Kings Education said: “We are very excited to have formed this partnership with Downside School – unique within the UK boarding school sector.”
Pamplin underlined it was a “shared educational ethos” which had brought about the partnership; “the well-being and personal development of the student is at the centre of our entire approach.”
Dr James Whitehead, Head Master of Downside School added: “This exciting new development at Downside enables us to provide a new kind of educational provision for pupils who may wish to join the main School at a later point, when they are equipped and ready to do so.”
