Kings Education has announced a pathway partnership with Southern Oregon University in the US to support international students on campus, as well as work with the institution to recruit international students.
“We are absolutely delighted to announce our new partners as Southern Oregon University,” said Jose Flores, Kings US managing director.
The public liberal arts university – accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities – offers “an exceptional environment for international students in a safe, beautiful and welcoming part of the US”, he added.
“Our students can also benefit from a range of flexible options for their degree study at the university. Despite the current challenges created by the pandemic, this partnership represents our long-term commitment to the best US university experience and outcomes for our students,” Flores explained.
With an embedded Kings presence set to be unveiled on campus once current pandemic restrictions are lifted, international students will have the option to stay at SOU for four years or transfer to the University of Oregon through a guaranteed admissions arrangement with SOU after two years.
An Accelerated Baccalaureate Program will enable students with a strong GPA to gain a full bachelor’s degree in just three years by taking their high school grades into account.
Transfer programs include the GO: Oregon Program, The Kings GO: 50 and GO: 100 Programs which guarantee pathways to top 50 /100 US universities, and the Kings GO: Prepared program for specialised pre-degree study skills and language support if required.
“Southern Oregon University is excited to partner with Kings in support of international students,” Linda Schott, president of Southern Oregon University, noted.
“Our partnership with Kings will enhance both our campus and the experience of all of our students”
“We look forward to helping students from all over the world experience a transformative education at SOU, and we know that our partnership with Kings will enhance both our campus and the experience of all of our students.”
SOU offers three separate start dates throughout the year — January, April and September – via its quarter system, and Kings is currently recruiting for September 2021.
In the short term, students are able to begin their programs either online or in person on campus, it added.
