ISIS Education, based in London, UK, has expanded its operations into North America by acquiring Vancouver Maple Leaf College Inc, which operates two English language schools in Canada under the Eurocentres brand.
Owned by Sharon Curl (pictured, with ISIS Education owners) and Maki Yonenaga until January this year, the schools in Toronto and Vancouver will continue to be headed up by the same management team.
Director, David Brown, said that ISIS Education was pleased to have achieved its international ambitions and delighted to be associated with an internationally well known organisation such as Eurocentres.
“We hope to expand by opening new schools in the USA”
The two Canadian schools will continue to operate under a franchise agreement with Eurocentres, and will continue to be known as Eurocentres Canada. Brown hinted at further expansion plans. “We are really pleased that the two owners, Sharon Curl and Maki Yonenaga, will stay on as Directors and with their guidance and expertise, we hope to expand by opening new schools in the USA.”
He continued, “Sharon and her team run the schools really well, they give a great service, and our view is we can learn as much from them as hopefully they can learn from us.”
Curl commented, “This move will not mean any change in the high-quality language courses that clients have come to expect from Eurocentres Canada. Eurocentres’ 60+ years of rigorously controlled quality standards, tightly controlled nationality mix, innovative teaching methods and exemplary level of student feedback will all remain through and beyond the transition.”
Last year ISIS Education ran its first summer school at the University of British Columbia (UBC) and this summer it will also be offering “family stays” in Toronto as well as its adult year-round language school offering.
ISIS Education encompasses a portfolio of brands including ISIS Schools, ISIS Summer, Oxford Tutorial College and Bucksmore Education. This month, the company ran a fam trip for its key partner agencies to its centres in London, Brighton and Oxford.
