A seminar aiming to bridge the gap between university international admissions and the some 5,000 international secondary schools worldwide will be held in the UK next month.
Research organisation the International School Consultancy Group (ISC) will hold the event to provide tips and guidance on how to capitalise on recruitment opportunities from this market.
Over the last 10 years, the demand for international schools has soared particularly in Asia and the Middle East
According to ISC data, 3.4 million students currently attend the world’s English speaking international schools and more than 5,000 of them have upper school students interested in overseas tertiary education.
Over the last 10 years, the demand for international schools has soared particularly in Asia and the Middle East. Government-backed education initiatives, rapid recovery from the recession in these regions and emerging middle classes have all contributed to the boom and created a vibrant recruitment market.
In a statement, Clive Pierrepont of Taaleem international school in the UAE and GCC regions said many student go on to universities in the UK and USA.
“Over 90% of our student go on to university, well above the UK average of 50%,” he added.
The one-day seminar on February 24th, supported by The PIE, will show institutions how to work directly with international schools and which are the most developed markets.
