The Canadian language school ILAC has signed an articulation agreement with pathways giant INTO, enabling its students to progress to INTO’s US pathways. ILAC, which has campuses in Vancouver and Toronto, says a number of other American institutions have approached it about pursuing similar tie-ups, too.
Under the agreement, INTO will provide ILAC students with conditional acceptance letters to study at the University of South Florida, Oregon University, Colorado State University and Marshall University. To be eligible ILAC students must achieve IELTS 5.0-5.5 or TOEFL 6.0-6.5, depending on the INTO programme.

Upon successful completion of the first year of an INTO pathway students can transfer directly to the second year of a degree course at the partner university.
Bogumila Lapinski, public relations and communications representative at ILAC, said the move opened up more progression opportunities in the US for ILAC students. “Now ILAC students can go beyond Canada and experience a post-secondary education in one of many exciting North American cities,” she said.

Lapinski said more US agreements were now on the cards. “Since the announcement [with INTO], a number of other American institutions have approached ILAC and are interested in pursuing similar agreements.”
ILAC was launched in 1997 and caters to thousands of students each year. INTO has formed 18 joint venture partnerships with 17 universities in the UK, North America and China since 2006.
