English language school ILAC has announced it will introduce a Covid-19 vaccine passport from September to ensure the safety of students and staff at its campuses in Toronto and Vancouver.
From September 7, students and staff who can present proof of vaccination will be exempt from having to present a weekly negative rapid Covid-19 test result to access on-campus classes and activities.
The announcement came around the same time as a number of major Canadian universities said they would mandate vaccinations in order for students to be on campus.
The initiative aims to keep classes running, ensure students and teachers are safe and prevent the spread of Covid-19 variants, the provider outlined in its new Safety Policy.

“Educating our community about vaccines is our social responsibility and we take it very seriously,” ILAC CEO Jonathan Kolber said in an open letter.
“Teachers and students deserve a safe place to work and study, and masks are simply not enough.”
ILAC will support students with the process of accessing vaccines, which are free for international students in Canada.
“For students who do not want to get vaccinated or tested, online classes will continue to be available for an extended period of time,” Kolber added.
