“Our teams will provide relevant and timely guidance for GEMS students to help them understand their global study opportunities,” Rashi Bhattacharya, IDP’s country director UAE, Oman & Qatar told The PIE News.
“This includes helping students identify the international courses and destinations that will position them for study and career success and assistance through the admission process.
“Our teams can also support with collating and translating visa-related documents and assisting with IELTS bookings and support.”
GEMS Education CEO Dino Varkey said that thanks to the collaboration, GEMS’ high school students, alumni and parents will receive “unparalleled support and guidance”.
“IDP Education, our UniConnect partners for college and career counselling resources on a global scale, will be on hand at every step of our students’ pathway for academic and career success,” he said.
The agreement will also include assistance for students who have missed their grades or not yet applied to university, with IDP Education relying on its global partners to help students find a course at university or college.
“Our certified education counsellors have helped over half a million international students gain admission into 700+ quality education institutions in the major English-speaking countries,” Bhattacharya explained in a statement.
Future plans for the new partnership include the opening of a Global Career Hub located at GEMS Education school in Dubai at the start of the next academic year. The hub will support GEMS students with IDP Education professional services also after school hours and on weekends, complementing the services already provided by the school’s advisors.
