The ICEF Southeast Asia 2019 workshop saw 87 education organisations meet agents from countries across the region in June. Held in Vietnam’s second largest metropolis, Ho Chi Minh City, the third annual event saw 11% overall attendee growth – with upwards of 350 participants.

The total number of agents participating grew by 18% from 2018 numbers to 198 agents in total, with 23% attending their first ICEF event.
Attendees represented agencies from Vietnam, the Philippines, Thailand, China, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Laos, and Myanmar.
Education providers from Canada, the US, Australia, the UK, and Spain were well represented, with 122 educators from 87 organisations in attendance.
ICEF’s workshops are renowned for helping institutions and schools boost their collaboration with education agents.
Rob Turner from Yamanashi Gakuin University – International College of Liberal Arts, Japan described it as a “great opportunity to meet high-quality representatives from several countries around the region”.
Guy St. Clair, global sales director – Agents, Cohort Go, Australia said the event was useful for managing existing clients, generating new sales, building our brand exposure, and growing our agent network.
In addition, seminars covered market insights from Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, and Singapore, and an overview of institution-to-institution partnerships in Vietnam.
ICEF participants and staff also visited hospitality training project, KOTO – Know One, Teach One, which has trained almost 1,000 at-risk and disadvantaged youth over 20 years, supporting them into employment.
