ICEF is launching an Irish Education Agent Course to provide agents with the latest information and updates about the Irish education market.

The announcement comes as ICEF’s flagship Agent Training Course marks a milestone of over 1,000 graduates from 103 countries.

The Irish Education Agent Course, which was soft-launched at the start of the month, is set to be officially rolled out next year.

“We sometimes suffer from a lack of international awareness of the range of offers there are”

It will cover the education system in Ireland and focus on specific sectors such as institutes of technology, pathway programmes and secondary schools.

It will also cover other aspects of the education system including the culture of Irish schools and student visa information.

The advisory board for the course is compiled of stakeholders from Ireland’s education sector, and agents from Asia, Europe and Latin America.

David O’Grady, CEO of Marketing English in Ireland and one of the advisory board members, said he is keen to ensure agents who go to industry events are familiar with the nuances of the Irish education sector.

“We sometimes suffer from a lack of international awareness of the range of offers there are for international students in Ireland,” he told The PIE News.

“We thought this would be a good fit.”

The course itself will be self-paced and free to take. Participants will also have the option to take a final assessment online at any time, or at ICEF Workshops.

Ireland is the latest addition to ICEF’s country-specific agent training courses. Similar programmes were introduced to inform on the education systems in the US and Canada.

Combined, all of the ICEF courses have 1,676 graduates.
