As of January 1, 2014, London-based Excel English and Cairns College of English in Australia are now part of the International Association of Language Centres (IALC)– a network of independent language schools teaching their native language to international students.
Members have all been accredited by the association by meeting minimum quality standards, undergoing regular inspection, subscribing to a coda of ethics and upholding a philosophy of continuous improvement.
Both Excel English and Cairns College of English went through a full application process and inspection before being accepted to the organisation, which maintains a high level of popularity among education agents who like to work with independent operators.
Jan Capper, Executive Director, said the membership committee decides which schools will be invited to apply based on research and reputation.
“Each year, IALC adds a few new members through a careful selection process,” she said. “The Membership Committee has an annual geographical membership plan that prioritises certain languages and countries.”
Founded in 1989, Excel English delivers general English, exam preparation and summer courses to adults as well as London Experience courses for junior groups.
Similarly, Cairns offers full and part-time English courses including Cambridge and IELTS Exam preparations, study tours, student activities and student accommodation services for overseas students.
