International House World Organisation has welcomed five French language schools across the EU’s second largest economy.

Five France Langue schools in France will join the network, and continue to offer students “authentic French experiences”, with each location celebrating its unique local culture.

The five schools joining are: IH ParisIH BordeauxIH BiarritzIH Lyon; and France Langue IH Nice Libération.

“We are delighted to welcome the France Langue schools to the network,” said IH director of Member Services Beccy Wigglesworth.

“We are confident that the strength and depth of IH expertise will complement IH France Langue’s experience in the French language market and both organisations will benefit.”

David Sampere, general manager at France Langue added the group is “delighted to finally became part of this association and put the beautiful IH logo in Paris (once again)”.

“The strength and depth of IH expertise will complement IH France Langue’s experience”

“France Langue will be an active member of the association, always looking to the future and working on improving the teaching and the marketing of the schools and the sector itself,” Sampere said.

France Langue has been operating in the country for more than 40 years and trains 8,000 students every year. International House, in turn, has nearly 70 years of expertise in teaching languages and training teachers.

The group of schools had originally initiated the affiliation process to IH in 2018/19, but proceedings were halted as a result of the pandemic.

The quality seal and the recognition that comes with becoming an IH member will allow France Langue to “expand with access to new markets” and provide opportunities to diversify programs and teach a wider variety of languages, the company said.

Courses range from general French, French & lifestyle, professional French and exam preparation classes for different age groups.

France Langue recently launched its six to eight month University Pathway courses for students wishing to apply to French universities or higher education institutions.

It also specialises in low-intensity classes with a high variety of cultural and touristic activities, such as surfing classes at the Biarritz school, vineyard tours at the Bordeaux centre and Mediterranean culture immersion in Nice.

Lyon and Paris branches also offer historical culture opportunities, and the Study & Work program offers workplace placements as an intern or in a full-time position.
