FPP Edu Media has launched an app allowing schools that attend its student fairs to access data on thousands of prospective international students.
Translated into 14 languages, the app allows students who attend FPP’s “EduExpos” – which are held across Latin America and Asia – to share unique QR codes with exhibiting schools of interest to them.
This gives the institution immediate access to preregistered details on the student, such as their age, interests and study abroad preferences. Students meanwhile get a list of all the exhibitors they spoke with at the fair.
“We will be very happy if we get 100,000 students downloading the app by March”
FPP President Julio Ronchetti told The PIE News that he now labeled his events “smart fairs”. “Fairs now are the same as 20 years ago. But we thought we could make them better by using technology to connect the dots.”
The app also offers schools analytics on how many students they spoke with, along with a rating system to flag hot leads. Students can also opt to receive push notifications and messages from schools directly after the fair.
In addition, the app is also integrated with FPP’s Edufindme recruiting database, which launched two years ago and contains details on 350,000 students. It syncs with FPP’s virtual fairs and webinars, too.
Ronchetti said the app would be rolled out in September at fairs in Colombia, Mexico and Brazil. Students will be encouraged to start downloading it from August. “We will be very happy if we get 100,000 students downloading the app by March,” said Ronchetti. “This is a very feasible expectation but we’ll see.”
FPP fairs take place mainly in Latin America but are gradually being introduced in Turkey, India and other parts of Asia. The company expects the Edufindme database to reach 500,000 entries by the end of the year.
