EF – one of the world’s largest private language training providers – has announced its online language school is now available as an Android App allowing students instant mobile access to its cloud-based online school, Efekta 13.

EF says the app will broaden its reach beyond its already 20 million connected students

With its offering of 16 levels of General English, an Advance Speech Recognition engine that evaluates students’ speaking skills and teacher-led private and group classes 24 hours a day, the school says the app will broaden its reach beyond its already 20 million connected students.

“We have recognised for some time that the future of language learning is mobile, so a very exciting and obvious next step for us was to launch the Android application as a complement to our other mobile apps,” said Andy Bailey, CMO of EF Corporate Language Learning Solutions. “Android devices account for 60% of all tablet shipments outstripping iPads according to market research firm IDC.”

The new app, EF Efekta Corporate, is designed to respond to the learner while also allowing them to download study units which can be accessed offline. It is the latest addition to Efekta 13, EF’s cloud based English language school which launched its latest version in April this year.

The online school has over 2,000 hours of content covering pedagogy, content, user experience and engagement.

The app is available to download for free from the Google Play store for all students registered in the online system.

With over 1,500 business, government and the education sector organisations worldwide using EF for language training, Bailey hopes this development further extends the reach of the school to a significantly larger audience.
